Courtois was born on May 11, 1992 in Breda, Netherlands. His journey into football began in the youth team of his local club, where he showed his abilities in goal. However, real fame came to him when he signed for Chelsea in 2011. Early in his career, he was loaned to Union St. Gilly and then to Atletico Madrid, where he spent three successful seasons.
