Courtois was born on May 11, 1992 in Brussels, Belgium. From a young age, he showed an interest in football and, of course, the goalkeeper position. His parents were not professional athletes, but they supported their son in his passion. In 2002, he began training at his local club Kerkerkem, where he quickly showed his skills. In 2009, with his reputation growing, he was noticed by Genk, one of the leading clubs in the Belgian league.
At Genk, Thibaut joined the youth team and soon became the main goalkeeper. He made his debut in professional football in 2010, and it was from this moment that his path to glory began.
